Who We are

CIGL’s business activities are currently undertaken by following key subsidiaries:

  • Capital Impetus Asset Management Limited (CIAML) – an asset management company domiciled in the Cayman Islands managing assets and investments in the Greater American and European regions. CIAML primarily focuses on the management of private equity funds, fund of funds and alternative investments.

  • China Capital Impetus Asset Management Pte. Ltd. (CCIAM) – a Registered Fund Management Company in Singapore and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. CCIAM focuses on the management of private equity funds and fund of funds mainly in China and the Southeast Asia countries.

  • Capital Impetus Advisory Pte Ltd. (CIAPL) – a Singapore incorporated company that serves as a matching platform for SGX listed companies in the areas of M&A, reorganization, real estate trust, commercial trust, and the design of fund based investment products.

  • Capital Impetus Asset Management LLC (CIAMLLC) – a New York, U.S. incorporated asset management company that established by the end of 2016, the core business of this company is the investment and management of funds in the U.S. region.

  • 狮玺(上海)商务咨询有限公司- a consultancy company that domiciled in Shanghai Free Trade Zone, it is a wholly subsidiary of CIAML, this company and its Beijing subsidiary are primarily focusing on the consultancy for Chinese domestic customers on overseas capital market listing and M&A.

  • CIGL has also established CEL Impetus Corporate Finance Pte. Ltd (“CEL Impetus”) in Singapore with a wholly owned subsidiary of China Everbright Holdings (Hong Kong Listing Code: 00165). CEL Impetus holds a Capital Market Service (CMS) licence issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) and Singapore Exchange (“SGX”).

CIG’s CEO and Executive Directors are responsible for the operations of the Group. The Group adopts a flat organization structure with 5 business divisions which are managed by the directors. This is to ensure efficiency and to ensure that decisions are made rapidly and correctly.

The 5 divisions are:

    • Investment Banking Department – Business development, Investment Analysis, and Brand Management;

    • Operations and Risk Control Department – Operations, Compliance & Risk Control and Technology;

    • Fund Management Department – Portfolio Management and Research;

    • Legal Department – Legal, Corporate and Project Matters;
    • Executive Office – Regional General Managers, Finance, HR and Direct Investment.

Joe Q SUN

Mr. Sun is currently the Executive Director and CEO of Capital Impetus Group Limited and China Capital Impetus Asset Management Pte. Ltd. He is also the director of China Capital Impetus Investment Limited (CCIIL).

He has more than 20 years of investment and management experience in the Greater China region, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, covering a variety of business areas including high technology, pharmaceuticals, electronics, real estate, natural resources and chemical industry.

He has been instrumental in promoting the communication and collaboration in areas of economic, education and culture between China and numerous Southeast Asian countries.

Mr. Sun is the standing director of Beijing Overseas Exchange Association and Beijing Overseas Chinese Business Association. Mr. Sun also sits on the board of Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University.

Mr. Sun graduated from Beijing University of Technology with a bachelor’s degree, and obtained his EMBA from Tsinghua University.

PEH Siew Wee Chief Operating Officer CIG Singapore

PEH Siew Wee

Mr. Peh is the COO of Capital Impetus Group Limited.

Mr. Peh has many years of experience in both financial industry (investment banking, private banking and venture capital) and the real estate industry (development, marketing and management) in Singapore and China.

He previously held senior positions in various financial institutions in Singapore, including as the Director of High Net Worth Client Sales in SBI E2-Capital Asia Securities Pte Ltd, and as the Business Development Manager of HL Bank Singapore.

He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree (with Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Oregon, and graduated from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) with a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

QUAH Soon Tong Director, Compliance/Risk Management CIG Singapore

QUAH Soon Tong

Mr. Quah is the Director and Chief Risk Officer of CCIAM.

Mr. Quah has more than 20 years of experience in various areas in the financial services and banking industries, and more than 10 years of experience in real estate and construction industries.

He is experienced in strategic planning and risk management, and was previously the Head of Business Strategy for Global Financial Institutions Group in the United Overseas Bank, Director of Corporate Research and Risk Management for Surbana International Consultants, Director of Strategic Planning for Orchard Parade Holdings Ltd and Director of Research and Analysis Unit for Citibank NA.

Mr. Quah holds an Engineering Tripos Bachelor degree (majoring in Civil Engineering) and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Cambridge. He is also a holder of CFA certificate.

TAN Gee Chee Director, Fund Management CIG Singapore

TAN Gee Chee

Mr. Tan Gee Chee has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. He was a foreign exchange dealer trading in currencies, futures and options, prior to becoming a fund manager. He was a fund manager/research analyst with NTUC INCOME, UOB Asset Management, Temasek Holdings and OSK International Asset Management. Besides equity research, he has managed insurance premium funds, ILPs, unit trusts, managed accounts and hedge funds.

Mr. Tan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from National University of Singapore. He is also a holder of CFA certificate.
